The paint code is a manufacturer's identification number that defines the exact factory color of your vehicle. It's usually on a sticker or metal plate on the door jamb, in the boot, or under the bonnet.

A short letter-and-number combo printed on a sticker or metal plate. Examples: LA7W, 300, NH-731P, 475. May be labeled Paint, Color, Colour, or Lackcode. The same code is sometimes repeated in the service book.
